Over the summer, I decided to jump into the year 2013 and try to use a digital calendar. I mean, it made complete sense! I could have access to it at home, work, and out and about without having to carry a planner with me. I chose to use Google Calendar since I use all of Google's other services.
It did work well and I did like the accessibility, but there's just something about writing down events and 'to do' lists that is so satisfying! So, after about a month of using Google Calendar, I went to Target and bought a new version of my favorite planner! (I've used the BlueSky planner in various sizes for years.)
I prefer a planner that has both monthly and weekly pages. I use them both, although for different things. Let's start with the monthly pages.
I use the monthly pages to plan blog posts and YouTube videos. (I also use different colors to distinguish between the two.) Before the month even starts, I write in my ideas. It is more of a rough estimate of what I would like to post. It always changes!
On the weekly planning pages, EVERYTHING gets written down!
*to do lists
*Olivia's school schedule and events
*holidays and birthdays
I like to 'check off' a task as I complete it. It is so satisfying!
A trick that has worked well for me in the past: Use PostIts for recurring weekly or monthly tasks! Once completed, simply move the PostIt to the next week or month to be completed again. It saves a lot of writing the same things over and over again!
I hope this helps you stay more organized!
