And 2nd Note: This post is part of an organizing contest over at Organizing Homelife Please go HERE and vote for me! It's the one labelled Mom, Paper, Scissors. Thank you!!
Now, on to the post!
Certain parts of that system, mostly the Budget Box, was not working for me. I believe organizing is an ongoing process. We should always be reevaluating how we organize our spaces. So, since I was dissatisfied, I set out to create a binder system for my office. I believe this will work better because A.) it is portable. I am a busy! Sometimes it is helpful to be able to grab my bills and pay them during lunch or on the road. B.) It is more organized. In the Budget Box, everything was thrown in, causing a delay in finding paperwork that needed acted on. It really was just a way to get the stuff out of sight, but wasn't very organized. C.) The current binder system I had for certain paperwork wasn't working for me. I didn't use it often and things went undone. It needed reorganized!
Another note: I did film a video for this. YouTube is being super duper slow in uploading, so I will add that once it is ready. So, please check back!
Here are my results! (If you are interested in the products I used, please check out the list below!)
Isn't it pretty?! Here is a rundown of what each binder includes:
Home Management Binder: Bills, Accounts, Budget, Savings, Debt
Planning Binder: Parties, Holidays, Blog Ideas, Vacation
Medical Binder: Medical Info, Insurance Info, Prescription Logs
I used tabs to divide up each section, and if a section needed further dividing, I used cardstock with Post It sticky tabs on the top.
Pics are also on my Pinterest HERE !
The products I used:
Colorful Pens (on Clearance at Target, so I'm not sure if they still have these.)

This is a wonderful idea. This Organizing Revolution challenge has motivated me to update my own Home Binder system. Thank you for sharing yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking and commenting! I had been wanting to do this for awhile, so this was the perfect opportunity! YouTube (still!) hasn't uploaded the video. It goes more in depth as to what is in each section. I will get that up as soon as possible!
DeleteI need to do a home binder...especially since there are 4 of us instead of just me and wes!
ReplyDeleteI think it will really help, especially the medical binder for all the kids immunizations and whatnot. I always have trouble tracking them down the morning of a doctor's appointment. Now I can just grab the binder and take it with me!
DeleteI love your post! I was so looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful inspirations! this has reminded me that I need to relook at our own home binders. good job!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading! I'm going to try my best to keep my binders up-to-date, too!
DeleteThis was excellent! Binders definitely replace bulky file cabinets and the portability makes it to just grab and go! Great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
